Fayette County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan 2024 Annual Update Process Begins

The Hazard Mitigation Planning Annual Update Process has begun in Fayette County. The Hazard Mitigation Plan serves as a blueprint for reducing property damage and saving lives from the impacts of natural and human-made hazards. 

The Plan will be updated over the next year with the second meeting occurring on Wednesday October 16th, 2024. See to the right for meeting details.

FEMA R3 Hazard Mitigation Planning Training Series

FEMA Region 3 is partnering with Fayette County Department of Emergency Management to offer three virtual hazard mitigation planning trainings to help communities adopt hazard mitigation plans that meet current FEMA requirements. Communities with FEMA-approved, locally adopted HMPs have access to other FEMA grant programs. These trainings are intended to highlight the role of community representatives during the hazard mitigation plan update process.
