About the Project

The Fayette County Emergency Management Agency is currently updating Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). This Plan serves as a blueprint for reducing property damage and saving lives from the effects of future disasters in our community. The HMP identifies natural and human-made hazards that may impact our community and provides an assessment of our vulnerable population and infrastructure. The Plan details the County’s mitigation strategy, including its goals, objectives, and actions, for reducing our risk to future damage and loss.

Objectives of the Annual Update:

  • Provide the public opportunities throughout HMP development and drafting process to provide input.

  • Update the risk assessment using the most recent disaster data and information.

  • Update hazard mitigation goals, objectives, and actions as they relate to reducing loss of life and property from natural and human-made hazards.
